Looking back at my vocation journey brings me back to the time when I was in the primary school. I attended the Sunday Mass in my village. At that time, I saw and experienced how beautiful it was when a priest was celebrating Mass. I didn’t even know how to describe those feelings. I was just amazed at what was happening in front of me. So, as I went on to secondary school, I just forgot about all those feelings. I continued my life as a student in the usual way. However, in 2017, the idea of attending a vocation seminar entered my mind, but unfortunately for a number of reasons I was unable to. Actually, at that time, I just wanted to see how and what the seminar was all about. It was just for the experience. By the end of 2018, the idea of attending the vocation seminar came back again. So, in early 2019, I went to the seminar which lasted three days and two nights. Around that time, I had not been feeling very well, but what was amazing was that throughout the whole seminar, I did not feel any sickness or feeling of being unwell, and, in fact, was able to participate fully in the seminar without worrying or being anxious about the fever.

At the end of the seminar, my name was announced as one of the candidates to enter the Formation House for the English Year in Kota Kinabalu. However, at that time I had mixed feeling, being both happy and still anxious. However, with the help from God, I was able to finish my English Year and proceed to SPC, Initiation Year in Kota Kinabalu in 2020 and now in 2021, I am part of the College General, Penang community.

Throughout my formation there have been ups and downs, but God has always been there to give me strength and brings me joy .

Thank you and God Bless.
