Aim of the Course

This course aims to give an initial overview of the nature of logic and an introduction to formal Aristotelian logic and its use not only in philosophy but also in everyday life.

Course Content

Description of logic; logic and language; arguments; fallacies; categorical proposition; categorical syllogism. By means of exercises, the students will practice the use of logic in analysis.

Assessment

Class participation & Exercises: 30%

Individual / Group Presentation: 20%

2 hour written exam: 50%

Credit: 6
