City parish children visit to College General

May 3rd, 2009 being Good Shepherd Sunday also called Vocation Sunday, was a memorable day for the Catechism teachers and children of City Parish. Despite the heavy rain in the morning, about 100 students and teachers turned up at Our Lady of Sorrows Church to board the buses and spend the next two hours at College General.

Upon arrival at College, Fr. Edwin Paul and the seminarians Brothers Kevin, Louis, David, James and Joachim warmly greeted us. Our assistant parish priest Fr. Dominic also joined us later to show his support.

With activities arranged separately for the primary and secondary students, not a minute was wasted and the children enjoyed the entire visit. Games and a bible quiz along with chocolates for the winners added cheer and excitement among the primary kids.

The visit to the chapel and museum was an entirely enriching experience with many historic church collections being treasured and displayed. The explanations given by the seminarians gave the children more understanding on the priesthood and the journey since the start of College General.

We finally ended with lunch served by the teachers and parents. Everyone joined in the fellowship and children had their time to walk around the College area and get to know the seminarians. The visit was a meaningful one both for the children and the teachers and we express our heartfelt thanks to Fr. Edwin Paul and all the seminarians for accommodating us and sharing their precious time with us.
