Fr Ignatius Huan is back soon in College General to conduct a course on DEVELOPMENTAL PSYCHOLOGY AND SPIRITUAL GROWTH.

This course is open to the laity as well as seminarians of College General.

Classes will be held on Mondays at 9.40am -11.25pm & Thursdays 10.40am-12.20pm. Course Fee RM100.

DEVELOPMENTAL PSYCHOLOGY AND SPIRITUAL GROWTH

Aim of the Course

To verify that “grace builds on nature” by integrating the findings of developmental psychology with Christian spirituality. To understand the different stages of lifespan development the “crisis” of each stage and its impact on personal and spiritual growth. To trace the human journey towards self-actualization and to recognize its parallel in the spiritual journey.

Course Content

This Course covers:
1. An overview of developmental psychology: purpose of study, the life stages and outline of psychological theories of lifespan development
2. Freud’s theory of psychosexual development in childhood
3. Erikson’s psychosocial theories
4. Maslow’s theory of self-actualization
5. Psychological growth and Christian maturity
